EDC Contest Entry #9 Kim

Hey Folks, I am pleased to bring another entry for our EDC Contest. First we will quickly recap what is going on. The broad strokes are this. I want to share and discuss the stuff we carry around every day AKA EDC. Taking pictures of our stuff and talking about it is my goal.

The prizes will be as follows:
1st Place: 3 Sport Berkey Water Bottles donated by LPC Survival ($69 value)
2nd Place: 1 Blackhawk Holster donated by ($50 value)
3rd Place:  1 Snare-Vival-Trap cough garote cough donated by Camping Survival ($17 value)

Wildcard: This one goes to whoever I want to give it to for whatever reason I feel like. It will be a grab bag donated by yours truly. The exact makeup is TBD depending on what I have lying around  and may include books, gear, medical stuff or even a couple silver dimes. ($30+  value)

Check out the details and my example post here.

 Onto Entry #9

The purse is a Fossil bag, real leather, amazingly durable, which sits right up under my armpit when my feet are on any ground not owned by me. At this time, I am not a CCW holder (soon to be remedied!) so the 9mm stays home with the 12guage, which lays just under my side of the bed for home defense. The small black leather bag is actually belt-ready & holds my "PSK" items. I realize there's a LOT there...hell, I carry it 12 - 14 hours a day! It may seem a bit of overkill, but I grew up with a bunch of little sisters (no brothers) & was always having to solve their issues at the drop of a hat. Add to that the libertarian/survivalist mindset, the military connections throughout my life (daughter of the Air Force, wife of the Marine Corps & mother of the Army) & you've got yourself a fully prepared back-country redneck woman living/working in glamorous glittery Las Vegas! Below is the list of contents, starting top right:

Work cell (always accompanied by personal cell, with which this photo was taken - Samsung Galaxy Smartphone)
Cinnamon Chewing Gum
Godiva Chocolate Pearls (The answer is matter what the question is!)
Altoids Mints (tin used as PSK tin for Christmas gift :-D)
Miniature Chocolate bar
Change purse with cash
Assortment of pens, sharpies (silver & black) & a highlighter
2 energy bars
Jolly Rancher hard candy
Flashdrives with vital data
Various post-it notes, tabs, etc.
Assorted paper/binder clips
Cigarette case with business cards/contacts
Pkg of wet wipes
PSK belt-ready bag (emptied for this photo)
Gerber mini multi-tool (PSK)
Purdy lil boot knife w/sheath - gift from hubby (PSK)
Minimal make-up (foundation, powder, concealer & mascara)
Blistex tube (because chapstick melts in a Las Vegas summer!)
Wallet w/ID, Debit card, vital insurance info, CPR & FA cards
Mini Tide Pen
Dental Floss
Disposable toothbrush/toothpick
Super Glue (PSK - wrapped in duct tape so it doesn't leak! Been there, done THAT!)
12ft tape measure
Nail File
Multi-head Screwdriver
Eyeglass repair kit w/extra threaded needle, mini-rubber bands, etc. (PSK)
Wire saw & braided wire cable snare (PSK)
1gal. freezer ziploc bag (PSK)
Glass-cleaning cloth (PSK)
Map compass (PSK)
Pill fob w/iodine-based H2O purification tabs (double-duty for anti-rad treatment - PSK)
Container w/Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Benadryl & Anti-diarrheal (PSK)
Various antiseptic wipes (PSK)
CPR Face Shield (PSK)
Latex-free gloves (PSK)
10ft. braided mason's twine (PSK)
Folded mini-loaf pan (PSK)
Flashlight (PSK)
12ft duct tape wrapped around 2 old business cards with the following tucked inside (PSK):
-- 3 safety pins
-- large darning needle pre-threaded with heavy waxed cord
-- circle of foam for floating magnetized needle on
-- survival guide print-out
-- old ID to use to open doors
-- spare paper
-- P38 can opener
Mini-bic lighter (PSK)
Tinder - cottonballs soaked in petroleum jelly packed into a travel-sized pill container (PSK)
Camp matches with more tinder, in a small ziploc bag (PSK)

I also have the Marine Corp Summer Survival Guide on my cell phone. :-D

This looks like the purse contents I carried when I had kids at home... always prepared for their little problems. You've got some great items that I forgot I used to carry. Will re-think my purse now. Thanks.

You, ma'am, walk around more prepared than most self-professed "hardcore" survival types I know. This gentleman's hat is off to you and your EDC gear.

Hi, I really like the look of the boot/neck knife with the sheath. I've had a look around and can't find out the make? What is it please?

I'm looking for a knife for my wife and would also love to know what the name of your boot knife is. Thanks.

It's from United Cutlery, model # uc954. Likely 10 to15 years old. However, I don't see it listed on their site -
About the closest they have, imo, is uc2734, or possibly uc2786. Maybe look at uc1466 but uc2732 is amazing.
