What Did You Do To Prepare This Week?

It was an excellent preparedness week here.

Ordered a chicken coop. Hope to get it set up and acquire some fuzzy egg makers late this week.

Picked up a surefire flashlight. It was on clearance at Home Depot marked down from 70 something to $45. Needed one to go in the by the bed home defense fighting load. The discount pushed me to do it now instead of later.

While we were there a spare box of contractor bags was purchased. Those things are just so handy.

We went to Sam's Club where a variety of shelf stable foods were purchased to add to our stores.

Finally pulled the trigger on a Honda EU2000. Since this creates a significant fuel need I ordered 5 gas cans to feed it.

The chicken  coop and generator were funded by our tax return. Those little occasional lumps of cash are good for purchases that it would take a long time to save up for otherwise. Or you can blow em on a new flat screen tv, rim's or a weekend trip.

On the downside I fear Walker drowned our seedlings. He got a little over enthusiastic with the hose while Wifey and I were both temporarily occupied.

Signed up for Go Ruck. Now I have a goal to motivate me to up my PT.

Made the decision to get a new lower and SBR it. Also going to get going a 9 mm can. With the trust decision being put off by ATF until sometime early next year I want to go ahead and take care of these items before the possibility arises that trustees will have to go through CLEO hoops (although my current sheriff is a good one).

Bought some fishing tackle and some Mountain House. I tried the Sweet and Sour Pork. It's not too bad for freeze dried food, but it's still freeze dried food.

Met Nurse Nancy and signed my oldest son and self up for a Medical class from Doom and Bloom in Chattanooga next week.

Retired my old EDC bag and upgraded to a Condor Urban Go Bag.

Ordered 2 more mags for my Ruger 22/45 bringing the total up to 6 now. Picked up another case of 7.62 for the Mac 90.

Silver bullion, baby. It's boring yet unexcitig. But it's cheap, too.

I rolled Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu twice, did deadlift, pullups, and bench press at the gym one day, walked a few miles with the dog and scored a maxpedition lunada for $30 off of craigslist in new condition. That puppy will either be a medical kit or work as a cached companion to my bolt gun.
I also bought some Mountain House chicken salad packages, which DOES NOT REQUIRE COOKING, so that's a legit quick food, something like 60 grams of protein per package for < $6.
Picked up a copy of Atlas Shrugged at the thrift store for $1.99. bought a cheap ish headlight to add to my car first aid kit.

PP, Good times. If I was stably in a free state I would SBR a Draco 7.62x39 pistol with a wire side folding stock or just maybe a short barreled AR. Silencers too.

Need to replace some tackle we've lost and probably get some spare line too.

Bran, Good times. Since you mentioned it I need a couple more mags for my Buckmark. Good times on the 7.62x39. Got to love the MAC-90. My Uncle had one in the late 90's and it was a beautiful rifle. The thumb hole stock was odd but delightfully ergonomic.

SD3, A fine call. I wouldn't mind ordering some 90% dimes these days.

Crankjob, Good times.

Put more seeds in the ground. Planted 17 fruit bearing shrubberies, hoping they take.

A few more home improvements projects and I'm shopping for the best window safety film.

To Theother Ryan...
I had my gunsmith machine an adaptor and changed out the thumbhole stock to a Magpul mil-spec AR stock. Changed out the front wood furniture for an aircraft aluminum picatinny setup from Rifle Dynamics. Finished it off with a BattleComp and this has become one of my favorite rifles. Its a beauty, though doesn't resemble its original self very much.

To Crankjob...
That chicken salad mix is pretty good. I recently taste-tested some to take with me to Yosemite at the end of June. Made chicken salad roll-ups with soft taco shells...good eats and a great quick lunch for the trail.

Ordered a set of Spartan front and rear plates and a carrier from Target Man.

Classic firearms was blowing out SKS's for $269, so I picked up a few of those on my C&R.

Got back to the trail running. Saturday and Sunday. Going again today.

Worked out 4 times.

REI trip snagged a pair of Salomon XA Pro Ultra 2's, and an Arcteryx Fortrez Hoody.

Sold some Motorcycle Panniers which will pay for a SIRT pistol to dial in my dry fire. Need to decide what to spend the other $150 on.

Found a potential buyer for my motorcycle. That'll give me ~$10,000 to figure out what to do with. Great problem to have. Woot! Definitely some of it will finish off my fighting loadout, need to decide how deep down that rabbit hole I want to go. NV?, Ballistic helmet?,
